Then I laid them all out on the sheets that go in the food dehydrator. This is the one I use. If you don’t have one, you could use a cookie tin instead.
I set the temperature to 165 and let it run for 12 hours. The KS said to take the strawberries out after a few hours but I forgot, and then even when I remembered about 7 hours later, there was still a bit of moisture left in them. I wanted to make sure I dehydrated them as much as I could to mimic the consistency of the ones I bought at Trader Joe’s so I kept them in for 12 hours.
Then I took them out and gave one to E to try, and then B. Since I detest fruit I knew I wouldn’t be a good judge. They were a huge hit and B loves eating them in her snack trap. Now I don’t feel bad when we are out and about and I know exactly what she is eating, and it is real food with no chemicals and it was cheaper than buying them constantly from TJs.
Do you have any plans for the weekend? We are meal planning which we haven’t been doing enough of lately, which has led to many nights dinner time rolling around and me being hangry. So I will update you on how well that goes next week. But have a wonderful weekend! More DIY decor projects are in the pipeline for next week and I am putting the finishing touches on one of them this afternoon if Miss B decides to finally take a nap. Have a good one! xo Annie
