Ever since I saw this pom pom box from Furbish (shown below) back in April, (they are currently only available in store but were online) I have been wanting to do a DIY a version for B’s room to hold her pacifiers. UPDATE: Now we use the box to hold her fairies since we weaned the pacifier and now since she has graduated to Barbies too, it holds all her Barbie shoes, hats, and accessories!
Below, I have shared the full step-by-step on how to make your own lucite box with pom poms, but if you want to print it out join OUR NEWSLETTER! Once you join, you will have access to tons of other printable instructions for DIY projects, checklists, and tips & tricks!
I did it a few weeks ago (it just takes me forever to get stuff photographed and written up but I told you I had goodies to show and here they are! And can I tell you, it couldn’t be easier! I used the same pom poms as Cassie did which I ordered from Amazon and purchased a lucite box from the Container Store. I chose one with a hinge which was a bit more expensive at $8.99 but it fits my needs better with retrieving the pacifiers multiple times a day. And my mother-in-law lent me her glue gun.
I started at one corner and then moved across. I found that by putting the large ones in place first and then tightly arranging the smaller pom poms around them. I tried to balance colors and made sure that the prominent colors were the ones that I wanted to be most dominant.
I spaced the pom poms pretty tightly to create a unified appearance.
I absolutely love the outcome and it perfectly fits her five to six pacifiers and her WubbaNub. We now have a nice ritual of when she wakes up, I carry her over to the box and she gets to put them in there and close the lid. Then when it is time to go to bed we do the reverse.
I have some good posts in store for this week even when I am away so make sure to check back! Thanks for being understanding last week!
