Have I kept you all waiting long enough for the nursery paint and curtains reveal? I know, it has been probably keeping you up late at night along with anticipation 😉
So a little background. This is the nursery when we moved in. It is a totally decent sized room but is the smallest bedroom upstairs. It has one window which is totally off-center all the way to the left. It was the same brown tan that the rest of the house was/ is. And the dark wood trim wasn’t doing it any favors for lightness. This room faces northwest, and has the same lighting as B’s next door. We plan to use this room as the nursery for any future babies, and you all know how much we love painting 😉 So we were set on making a neutral nursery that could be personalized for any future babies. I wanted a light color to brighten up the room.
I am kicking myself over not ironing the coverlet before taking this photo. Pregnancy brain! Well, when the room is finished I will definitely take some more pictures and iron it!
This was the best picture I could get. Being so pregnant, I have been banned from a ladder so this was as high as I could go. Excuse my ugly ski socks. And yes, this was done right before pre- kitchen table shattering. I was actually ironing the panel for the pelmet box. Ahhh memories!
So E bought me my own ironing board! And I finished ironing it on that. Much better results and no more tables were harmed.
Then we laid out the black grosgrain ribbon. We wanted to do about the same dimensions as the curtains, so we marked off a ribbon’s width from the corner of the box and the top of the box, and pinned them in place.
Next, we stapled the two vertical ribbon sections. Aren’t you loving my awesome pregnancy DIY outfits? Just call me Queen of Fashion!
Pelmet box done! Then we had to wait for the windows to cure for a week, but now as you can see they are all cured and the curtains are all pretty! Now, of course, I want to do a pelmet box for B’s room. But, I think that will have to wait for awhile…we still have a few projects before Baby T2 makes its arrival and then I have a feeling we will have our hands full.
