Sorry for the problems today! I posted this at 9:35 and even got a comment; but, when I came back at 2 pm from a walk the post was gone! Luckily, I was able to recover a copy via my Feedly subscription so please excuse the interruption and the wonky spacing! I don’t know what is up but I don’t want to mess with it anymore! Argh–the technical side of blogging is not my forte! Cross your fingers this one works!
For someone that doesn’t sew, I have a huge obsession with finding designer fabrics for less. I have these aspirations that one day I will learn how to make a pillow, or will (gasp) even have a large piece of furniture professionally upholstered. And then, I will be a real grow up. But, for now, it seems like the most economical solution is buying throw pillows from places like Target or Ikea, (I mean you can’t beat the price at under $20 for the cover and insert.) And I can just collect these ideas for throw pillows for my someday house.
Quadrille fabrics are amazing. And I love every print in Alan Campbell’s collection, especially the Zig Zag. Look how amazing it looks on walls. Unfortunately, it comes with a hefty price tag of $140/ yd sold only to the trade. So when I saw this tablecloth at H&M for $17.95 on a recent round up from the Hunted Interior I knew I had to have it. I can use it as a beautiful tablecloth that I am not worried about spilling on, or one day I can cut it up and make pillows out of it. That sounds scarier than it should.

Etsy Pillow from Whilock & Co. $40
I know I have posted about this pillow before but I have a slight obsession with this print. It reminds me of the sunroom in “The Graduate”. You can buy the pillow from Etsy Pillow for $40 or a pillow from Furbish, one of my favorite stores, for $65. Don’t you just love Ann Bancroft’s wardrobe from the movie too!
And look at the original print, Beverly Hills Martinique wallpaper shown in a room designed by Nate Berkus. I love everything about this room from the beautiful hydrangeas to the amazing lighting (gold and black is amazing!) to the vintage table. Nate Berkus never fails to amaze!

Here is a sample of one of my other favorite “someday” fabrics. Is that couch not amazing–the classic lines recovered in a more modern print.
If you feel up to making the pillow yourself, you can buy a similar fabric to Les Touches–Charcoal Dots Spoonflower for only $10.50/yd. Look at the original Les Touches in Tommy Smythe’s living room below!
I feel like Cruela DeVil but I absolutely love dotted fabric whether it is like B&F Les Touches or more like a dalmatian print shown above. Furbish currently has a pillow with this fabric and it is so popular it is backordered! Again, it is another one day piece!
Last, but not least as my grade school principal always used to say, is David Hicks La Fiorentina. I could die for pretty much any of his prints; but, this is my favorite. I mean look how amazing it is in the following rooms. It is no wonder that it is used by so many designers. Again, you can buy the fabric yourself from Honey and Fitz Spoonflower for $17.50/ yd or the original for $80/ yd. I think I know which one I’d pick. But if you want a pre-made pillow, you can buy one from Etsy for $42, which doesn’t seem like that bad of a price.

Have a wonderful weekend! I will be back tomorrow to post some Saturday Steals and Splurges; but in the meantime we are headed out for a walk and a trip to the park!
